Why do we feel tight in the morning?

Stiffness is often caused by a lack of movement. Your joints produce fluid to lubricate them when you move, and when you don’t move this fluid dries up leaving to feelings of stiffness and discomfort.

Another reason why your muscles feel stiff after sitting is because your blood flow slows down. Your muscles need oxygen and nutrients to function properly and without blood flow they are not get sufficient the muscles feel tight and tired

Poor posture exacerbates the problem as we put pressure on muscles to hold us in position

There can be other reasons, such as arthritis or inflammatory conditions. For these it’s important to seek advice but maintaining muscle strength and core control will help reduce the strain on the joints.
